“Four Chatty Benches have been identified within Leek to help to bring people together.
The “Chatty Bench” is an initiative designed to encourage people to come together to chat and connect while seated on a bench.
Town Councillors Dee Young and Kate Nicholls have been the driving force behind the installation in Leek.
“ we would encourage people to sit back and say Hello. That small gesture can bring about a conversation that could brighten someone’s day.
Loneliness can affect anyone – from teenagers and young people, new parents, carers or students to older people and those with disabilities.
We hope that people take up this opportunity to connect with others across the town”
The first four Chatty Benches can be found at The Nicholson War Memorial, Market Street, Market Place and Derby Street.
