LEEK MAYOR MAKING EVENING
TUESDAY 12th May, 7.30 pm in the Council Chamber.
The role of Mayor is one of service, representation, and community leadership. The Mayor acts as the civic ambassador for the town, supporting local organisations, attending community events, encouraging volunteering, and helping bring people together across all parts of our community. While the role is ceremonial and non-political during the year of office, it carries a proud tradition of promoting the values, spirit, and identity of the town.
This evening is not only a formal handover, but also a celebration of the people who make our community strong — residents, volunteers, local groups, businesses, and public servants who contribute so much throughout the year.
