As Mayor but also in her capacity as Chair of the LTC Allotments Committee, one of Cllr Sue Colman’s first assignments in the Summer 2019 was to attend the annual Allotment Holders and Gardeners Show.
In addition to the prize winners, a special award was made to Wilf McCrady, President of the Leek Allottment Holders and Gardeners Assocciation, and a fellow of the National Vegatable Society. Wilf is well known and respected as a National Vegetable Society Judge at shows throughout the West Midlands, and more widely, for many years.
Thanking Wilf for his long service, Sue Coleman said: “We have been privileged to have him overseeing our local produce and giving us his experience on growing such wonderful vegetables in our local soil.
Thanks to Wilf Mcready.
Wilf is an inspiration to our local growers. The produce on display today is testomony to their commitment and the productivity of our local allotments and school gardens. Wilf is a valuable asset to our growing. Thank you so much Wilf.”
