Meeting this challenge

To all residents of Leek, I hope you are all keeping well, both physically and mentally, within the confines of your home.

The Council members are communicating with each other by email and doing our best to hold our administration together, even though typing does take such a long time!!

I hope you are all taking time outside to enjoy the warmth and brightness of the sun. My daffodils in the garden and tulips and orchids inside the house from Mother’s Day, are giving me a real lift each time I look at them. Look after yourselves.

Sadly, recent official correspondence has all been one-way – cancellations, of all Mayoral Duties that were in the diary including the proposed Mayor’s Charity Ball to mark the end of my year in office.

On the positive side, we are going ahead to procure decorative bunting and the tenders are out for installation of the Christmas Lights. We have also approved the contract to provide the summer flower baskets and containers around the town.

The Town Clerk will be taking some time off up to the Easter weekend returning on Tuesday 14th April.

The recruitment of the Office Administrator has been put on hold. Those who applied will be contacted again, after the Coronavirus lockdown is over.

Finally, may I pass on my best wishes to everybody during this challenging time.

We will get through this together.

Cllr. Sue Coleman
Leek Town Mayor
