WOW Hub is coming to Bank House, St Edwards Street, Leek, ST135DS
Leek Town Council are delighted to welcome WOW Hub to Bank House in Leek. After a long period of the Town Council owned Grade 2 listed frontage building Bank House, being unoccupied, the Town Council have now secured a new tenant who will be opening soon with a community serving business engaging with new customers across the Staffordshire Moorlands. The new venture has also opened up some job opportunities for local people in the area. It has a prime location on St Edwards Street, adjacent to the High Steet carpark

The WOW Hub has been designed for families with children in the Early Years and Key Stage One, as a carefully curated educational environment over three floors! The WOW Hub caters for children up to 5 years old on weekdays, age 7 at weekends and afterschool. The open play and activity sessions are designed and managed by qualified and experienced practitioners – the WOW Hub’s Play Leaders.
Prices start at 3.50 for a parent and child age 12 months and under and 7.50 for a parent and child age 12 months plus. Discounts are available for parents with multiple children, childminders and homeschoolers – including the option to buy an unlimited annual pass. Sessions are bookable on their website as well as the option to turn up on the day. Open Play sessions are 90 minutes long starting at 9:00, 11:00 and 13:30 seven days a week (excluding some bank holidays). Ask about the WOW loyalty card and annual passes if you are local!
The venue has baby change facilities, feeding stations and allocated seating areas where customers can enjoy any food and drink available from the two tuck shops. Customers are welcome to bring their own food and drink.
The reception area on the ground floor retails the Curiosity Cloth Company’s products, which currently sell on Etsy and at local events. The ‘Curiosity Cloth Company’, which provides carers with a quality wooden play product – a play kit called a ‘collection’ – to encourage children to talk. Each collection centers around a cloth of a natural environment and accompanied by quality wooden resources: characters, curiosities, and components. Amongst many of the Activity Sessions already bookable online (starting in September 2024). The WOW Hub is becoming the home of some established activity sessions such as the WOW World Group’s Reading Fairy and Kidding Around’s Yogi’s Assemble.
The WOW World Group is a world leader in early years development and enrichment, operating in more than ten countries. It is a programme created by early reading experts for babies, toddlers and pre-school children lay the foundation for learning to read and loving books for life. At Reading Fairy Stoke and North Staffordshire, we learn through play; our action-packed classes include:
o Fun phonics and word games
o Sensory and performance storytelling
o Interactive songs and nursery rhymes
o Speaking and listening activities
o Picture book time and more!
Kidding Around Yoga specializes in sharing yoga and meditation with toddlers to 12 years olds. The sessions including bespoke music and games, as well as other tools and activities to help children focus their minds and stretch their bodies whilst practicing yoga poses, meditation and pranayama (deep breathing). Yogi Assemble uses a system based on the classical study of yoga and transforms it into an experience for children to both introduce them to yoga as well as inspire them to develop a practice and give them tools to take into adulthood.
The WOW Hub has space for likeminded practitioners to run their sessions within the venue, whether this is occupying a room or providing sessions in one of the existing spaces (by the hour, weekly or monthly). For instance, The Haven has joined the team, formally functioning from Dreamcatcher in Getliffe’s Yard, to provide craft and sewing workshops for all ages from the WOW Hub.
